About us

In the summer of 2020, cousins Angie and Munah found themselves craving nature, adventure, and connection. They began hiking Philadelphia’s many trails, documenting their excursions on social media. With every post, their friends grew more and more excited to join the fun. What began as a casual weekend outing quickly grew, expanding to 16 active members and counting.

Our story

In the years since, PhillyHikingBeauties has evolved into a nonprofit women’s hiking group devoted to health and community.

We offer weekly hikes, fitness challenges, social activities, travel experiences, and philanthropic opportunities.

In 2025, we partnered with the Upper Darby Township Recreation Department to launch a hiking program designed for girls ages 5–12. The goal of the program is to introduce young girls to outdoor activities at an early age, helping them build a lasting appreciation for nature.

The program is held annually during the summer months. For more details, visit the Little Hiking Beauties Program page, and be sure to follow us on social media @phillyhikingbeauties to stay updated.
